How Beautiful
“You alone and your Mother are more beautiful than any others, for there is no blemish in you nor any stains upon your Mother” ~ St. Ephrem the Syrian
How beautiful is the mystery of your birth that you should be conceived in holiness by your mother from the priestly tribe and your father from the tribe of kings.
How beautiful is the mystery of your birth that you should be born without the stain of sin so that you could be a spotless bearer for God.
How beautiful is the mystery of your hallowed womb that God should be incarnate within you without the need of any man to make Him.
How beautiful is the mystery of biology that our Lord should share Himself with you and yourself with Him through microchimerism.
How beautiful that you should pass no stain of sin from your own DNA to our perfect Lord Jesus.
How beautiful that even if after you gave birth to our Lord through your perfect virginity, you should carry him in your heart and body forever.
How beautiful that the Child you should raise would be the One to teach you and lead you in His path to salvation.
How beautiful that you should be there to minister to Him throughout His ministry.
How beautiful that your love of Christ knew no limits that you should follow Him to the cross piercing your own soul as they pierced your Son.
How beautiful that you should see your own Son resurrected conquering death by His own death.
How beautiful that you should have your own word of truth and honor made whole now that the world could know your Son was not conceived in sin.
How beautiful that you should be there with the apostles at Pentecost to see the Holy Spirit come upon them just as the Holy Spirit overshadowed you.
How beautiful that when your earthly life had concluded, God should take your body to His presence.
How beautiful that if Christ’s body remained in your body from having carried Him in your womb, that He did lift you up to His glorious presence.
How beautiful the mystery of our Holy Mary, Mother of God.
Luke 1:48b “For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed”
